This month I am using the Angel Tarot Cards for the angel card reading. They have been developed by Doreen Virtue, PhD, and Radleigh Valentine. These cards are based on traditional tarot card decks, but bring a more positive, gentle feeling to the messages. Intuitively, I was told to use five cards. As I shuffled the deck, I asked the angels what we needed to know for August. Interestingly, the first two cards were water cards, the Three of Water and the Ace of Water. Doreen tells us, “The suit of water represents the depth of our emotions. It’s where we fall in love, nurture our children, and open our hearts to deep feelings. The water cards represent love, romance, relationships, family, dreams and desires. This suit also encompasses the depths of our intuitive and psychic gifts.” The third card came from the Major Arcana, which are important life events that occur along our path. This card is The Hermit. Finally, the last two cards came from the fire suit, the Knight of Fire and Ten of Fire. Doreen tells us about this suit: “The suit of fire represents our ideas and inspirations. It’s where we feel passion, display amazing creativity, and set our dreams into motion. This element corresponds to our career, art, adventure, risk taking, and self-development. Fire can also represent any of our passions.”
The first water card is the Three of Water, which states: “A celebration! A wedding, graduation, or birth announcement. The need to have more fun.” ‘Three’ cards represent creativity, growth, and self-expression. It’s time to kick up your heals and enjoy yourself for a while. It’s deep into summer and before it’s gone too quickly, use this time to make merry in your life. It could be a life event, but it doesn’t have to be. Make the effort to let loose and create something new for yourself. Stretch and see where it leads you. It could make a huge difference, and you’ll benefit and be glad you did.
The second water card is the Ace of Water, which states: Falling in love or the resurgence of a relationship. Spiritual growth and enhanced intuition. A new home. ‘Ace’ cards speak of new beginnings or opportunities for a fresh start. Radleigh tells us, “The Ace of Water is a wonderful card that indicates heart-warming emotions and honest connections with others. Usually it heralds a beautiful new romance, but it can signify a very close and intimate (but platonic) friendship as well. This card also represents a time of deepening spiritual and psychic experiences.” This card follows nicely after the Three of Water. The more joyful you are, the more open you will be to new relationships of all kinds. Don’t force things; just let them evolve naturally, always trusting in your intuition. Your “gut” feeling will always reveal the truth of a situation. Trust in it. Your intuition is your inner guidance in all areas, not only relationships. Tune into it frequently to keep you on the best path for you.
The third card is The Hermit, represented by Archangel Raziel: Spend time in quiet meditation. Spiritual teaching. Self-discovery. Doreen states, “This card is very much about mentoring or being mentored, especially with respect to spiritual teachings. We may be called upon to seek out a teacher to help us move forward, or perhaps we’ve done enough inner exploration that we have great insights to share with others. The Hermit asks us to go within to pursue self-discovery. He compels us to be quiet and listen to the small, still voice that comes from the depths of our souls. This card can indicate getting good advice from someone wise, and can also encourage us to take some quiet time to reevaluate our plans.” This card reminds us that even though there is much to celebrate in our lives, it is important to take the time to be reflective. Our life purpose is to rediscover who we are and why we are here. This can only be done from within. Finding quiet time will help us develop our intuition, and have a better understanding of what is right for us as individuals.
Now we look at the first fire card, which is the Knight of Fire: Passionate, Adventurous, Self-Assured. Restless. This card states, “A sudden event that needs immediate attention. Time is of the essence. Think things through carefully.” ‘Knights’ are focused on action and getting things done. Radleigh tells us, “There are times in our lives when situations we hadn’t anticipated require us to move quickly. It doesn’t have to be a challenge that worries us; it might simply be something wonderful to consider- like having multiple job offers, but a short period of time to decide. We wouldn’t want to make a rash decision, but we’re probably going to have to come to a conclusion pretty quickly. Thinking is important, but our feelings will probably tell us more about what we want to do. We need to consider all our options in great detail, and then off we’ll go!” So, again, we are reminded that our intuition serves us best. We must gather all the information we can to make a wise decision, but listening to that small, still voice inside will help us know what is right for me, as an individual.
Finally, the Ten of Fire states, “Too much work. Accept help from others. Life is out of balance. Stress-related health concerns.” ‘Ten’ cards represent true endings that lead to new beginnings. Doreen says, “Work can be fulfilling and exciting, or it can be exhausting and feel like a chore. This card represents times in our lives when we’re working entirely too much without leaving any space for fun and play. Often this card shows up when people are working multiple jobs, or when single parents are dealing with the challenge of working all day and then caring for their kids when they get home. We may find ourselves so intensely involved in our current endeavors that we don’t even realize how rundown we’re becoming. This card can also indicate health problems that are created by overwork. We can take the Ten of Fire as a possible message to reduce our workload, take time off, or delegate tasks to others when possible.”
So we have now come full circle to where we began with this reading. If you have forgotten, please reread from the beginning! Enjoy the month of August, try something new, take time for yourself, reduce your stress, and keep in touch with your intuition. Namaste.
