This month’s Angel Card Reading will be based on the Healing With the Angels Oracle Cards, developed by Doreen Virtue, PhD. Doreen has developed many card decks in conjunction with the angels to assist us in understanding ourselves better. This card deck gives us an opportunity to examine our lives in relation to what we want for ourselves, rather than what is expected from others. If you have been drawn to read this, there are important messages for you. Pay attention to thoughts, ideas, visions, dreams, inner or outer voices, tastes and smells. Tune in to your intuition to help you get the most out of life. I asked the angels, “What messages are important for us in April?” and was guided to turn the top six cards from the deck after shuffling.
The cards are Harmony, Ideas and Inspiration, Surrender and Release, Support, Nature, and Focus. The order of the cards is not important, as each of the cards has its own message. As you consider the message, tune in to your own interpretation of its meaning. Doreen will offer guidance, as will I, but trust in your own feelings and ideas.
1. Harmony: Conflict is resolved in a situation that was troubling you. Know that you deserve this peace and happiness, and accept it graciously. Doreen tells us, “Beloved child of God, you are a peace-lover at heart. This card comes to you as a sign of new harmony that dawns upon you. Let go of viewing the situation as troubled, and see yourself and others through the eyes of your guardian angels. In this way, you will look past the surface and see the beauty and light that eternally shines within everyone.. By shifting your viewpoint to the angelic perspective, you become an Earth angel. Holding an elevated viewpoint sparks miraculous healings in all your relationships. Conflict drops away, revealing the clean and new truth about everyone and everything.” I feel this card has two points. First, to promote harmony on an individual basis, give the benefit of the doubt, rather than jumping to conclusions. Assume the goodness in others. Recognize that we have never walked in anyone else’s shoes. Believe that everything happens for a reason and for our greatest good. Understanding the importance of harmony is can make an enormous difference in our own lives, as well as, our families, peer groups, towns and cities, countries, and the general good of our planet. When we are in harmony within ourselves, this state of being radiates to others. As this effect ripples outward, it can have far-reaching effects throughout our own world and the world at large. The angels urge us to make harmony an important part of our thought processes and our lives. The second point is cautionary. Seeking harmony for the sake of avoiding conflict is not true harmony if one’s own needs are unmet. Work for your own greatest good, find true harmony within yourself, and everything else will fall into place.
2. Ideas and Inspiration: Pay attention to new thoughts and ideas that come to you. They are seeds of magnificent co-creation with God. Doreen says, ” God speaks to you through your thoughts, and this card shows that the angels want you to notice and follow the ideas you have recently received. These thoughts are answers to your prayers for guidance, so please don’t discount them as mere imagination. By drawing this card, the angels seek to give you confidence that you are just as capable of receiving wonderful ideas as any other child of God. That is because all wonderful ideas originate from the one Divine mind of God. Since God is omnipresent, meaning everywhere, God is within you. So, God’s mind continuously expresses new thoughts and ideas right inside your mind!” I believe when we are not used to trusting in our own higher thoughts and intuitive feelings, it is easy to dismiss them. The angels are working to help you recognize the God-given gifts you possess. They are urging you to trust in the fact that God is always working to help you uncover your own perfection. When you trust in God, the next step is to trust in that which God sends you, which can only be good. These thoughts and inspiration will help you on your path to a rewarding life.
3. Surrender and Release: Let go, and allow God and the angels to help you. Everything that you release will either be replaced by something better or will be returned to you healed. Doreen tells us, “When you hold on tightly to a part of your life that’s not working, it has no room to heal. Whether you’re unhappy with your love life, finances, career, home, or health, this card asks you to let go. If you hang on to these aspects of your life because of fears such as ‘What if I can’t find someone or something better?’ then the situation will only worsen. However, if you’re willing to open your hands and allow the situation to be freed, one of two situations will occur: Either it will be washed away from you and replaced by a better situation, or the situation will heal in a miraculous way. By drawing this card, the angels ask you to try not to control the outcome of your troubling situation. Let go, and let God help you!” I feel that so often we find ourselves in situations that make us very unhappy, yet our pride may prevent us from letting go. When we look for validation from others, we may not even consider the benefits of letting go. Too often we allow family, friends, and even society, to dictate what to do and how to behave and feel. In truth, when we listen to our inner guidance, good things happen. Surrender does not mean lose. Quite the opposite. It means you are giving up the struggle that pulls you down for something that will lift you up.
4. Support: God, the angels, and the ascended masters who love, protect, and guide you are watching over you right now. You are not alone, and you are safe! Doreen remarks, “This card reassures you that you are part of an awesome and powerful team of benevolent beings. They surround, guide, and love you constantly. If you are in danger, they will intervene with warnings or lifesaving measures. If you are afraid, they will comfort you with the energy of Divine love. If you are confused, they will whisper guidance in your ear. By drawing this card, your angels and guides ask you to talk to them more frequently. Have mental conversations with them about everything, and you will soon see evidence of their existence. Soon, the angels will enlist you to help other people. If you every feel doubtful about your ability to help others, ask the angels to help you release these fears.” Each of us at various times,needs support. It is possible to find it in many ways. There is never a time when support is not available to us, even when there is no person to talk to or who might listen to us. When we feel no one understands our needs, the angels are there to listen, guide and protect. It is comforting to know that. The more we call on God, the angels, and ascended masters to work with us, the stronger our trust in them and connection to them becomes. Humans do not always come through for us when we are in need, but assuredly, the higher beings always do. Just listen carefully. What they tell us is always for our greatest good, whether or not we want to hear their advice. When we follow their advice consistently, we will come to understand they will never steer us wrong.
5. Nature: Spending time alone in nature is important for you. Even five minutes in a garden would be healing for you right now. Doreen explains, “By drawing this card, the angels ask you to interact with nature more often, every day if possible. This card also signifies that you may be happier living in a more rural setting. If you have thought about moving away from city life, consider this card as additional validation. Also, this card may be encouraging you to choose an occupation involving plants or animals. For instance, you may enjoy gardening, nursery or veterinary work, pet-sitting, or delving into the world of animal communication. Your angels, and the nature angels, are helping you discover and give your gifts to the world. Help them to help you by spending more time in nature.” When we spend more time in nature, we automatically feel better physically, emotionally, and mentally. This is the perfect card for us to consider in April, when we are transitioning from the winter months to the rebirthing of spring. Warmer weather, spring flowers, the mating songs of birds, extended daylight all contribute to a feeling of well being. And it’s healthy for us to be breathing fresh air, and tending to Mother Earth. The more we take care of and acknowledge the importance of our planet, the more benefits she will bestow upon us.
6. Focus: Think about what you want, not what you don’t want. Guard your thoughts carefully, because they create your experiences. Doreen says, “Sometimes it seems that our thoughts choose us, but this is never the case. We always choose our thoughts- every moment. Our thoughts always have an effect, and there are no neutral thoughts. One-half second before you hold a thought, you decide to hold it. So, with practice, you can learn to monitor and alter your thoughts. This is the equivalent of putting your hands on the steering wheel of your life. You may believe that your concentration abilities are impaired, yet the infallible mind of God is within your own mind. You can experience remarkable feats of concentration by affirming: ‘I am now able to focus my mind at will. I hold only loving thoughts, and my angels act as my gatekeepers in establishing a steady stream of thoughts of love.’ ” Too often our thoughts are reactions to what we experience around us. Having control over our thoughts can make a big difference in life. When the focus is on what you do not want, more of the same will appear. It is the Law of Attraction. The Universe will oblige every time you focus on what you do not want, as well as what you want. This will continue to happen until it is understood that those thoughts are your own creation. It is important for the focus of your thoughts to stay steadily positive in order for that which you want to manifest. Doubt, or any type of negativity will interfere, so get used to monitoring your thoughts and keep them positive.
This month, the angels are helping us move forward on our path by pointing out important aspects of our lives that might need work. They are also giving us the means to work in those areas. They are always sending us ways to help ourselves on our journey. If we are willing to listen, all that must be done is call on them. They will never fail us.
