Clutter occurs in all areas of our lives. Our homes, our schedules, our relationships, our thoughts may all be full of clutter. What causes it to accumulate? Often times, it has to do with inattention and procrastination, or the unwillingness to change. The time element plays an important role. For example, when time is limited, decisions, people, and possessions, all of which may need care, are postponed, put off, or left for another time. There’s not enough time to pay attention, or it will be done “later”. But when is there more time? To some of us, it may never materialize. Before long, the piles begin to appear.
Clutter is an overabundance of that which is unnecessary in our lives, inhibiting us to live freely and lovingly. It causes stagnant energy. When our home is cluttered with old, unused, and superfluous objects and materials, there is little energetic circulation. When our thoughts are cluttered, it is difficult to think clearly and decisively. When the calendar is overbooked, each activity may not receive the attention, thought, or care it deserves. When relationships remain superficial, too many “other things” may get in the way of quality time together.
When space is cluttered, whether it be physical or otherwise, the natural flow of energy within and around it is blocked. Blocked energy is lower energy, which does not encourage creativity. Why is that important? We are natural creators. It’s what we do best. Every aspect of our life becomes better when we create that which is good for us, important to us, or makes us joyous, loving, and peaceful. However, not only do we create wonderful things for ourselves, but we also create the opposite, the stuck energy, the clutter in our lives. When bogged down with clutter, we hardly move or change, never mind soar. “Move” does not mean just physically, but emotionally, mentally, and spiritually as well.
Everyone sets up patterns in life quite unconsciously. When a positively creative person sets up patterns, they tend to be helpful for that individual to move forward in life successfully. The energy around them flows. We may consider them gifted, adventuresome , prosperous, or lucky, but in reality, because they don’t accumulate clutter, they easily achieve what they desire. Others create patterns that hinder them. The energy around them does not move. The situations in which they find themselves often repeat. They may be considered unlucky, boring, or stagnating. They remain the same for many reasons, but do not consider changing their life. They often feel that life is hard.
When we realize something needs to change, that’s the perfect time to clear the clutter. That means thinking seriously about what is wrong and resolving to come to terms with it. Then it is important to have a plan for making whatever changes are necessary. Make sure you line up support for yourself. And throw things away, be they old ideas, possessions, or relationships. If they haven’t worked, they are holding you back from the best life you can create. Reiki is a wonderful source to help us bring clarity to our lives on any and all levels. It draws attention to situations that must change and helps us to find our individual answers. Namaste.
