2025 is about transformation, which is a balance between radical change and needed stability. Each of us has been or will be asked to make significant changes in our lives during this year. We’ve come to a point where so much of life is stressful and unsustainable. Something different needs to be done.

Simultaneously, we will also need to stabilize ourselves while going through these changes. There are many different ways to do this, and being willing to change perspective is an important one.

Radical Change

Transformation can be difficult, but necessary when parts of life are not working. The proverbial ‘rat race’ can wear us down, causing high levels of stress. We may become highly competitive and more demanding of ourselves and others to the detriment of our relationships and self esteem. When the stress becomes too much, change is needed, not just for a few but for all. New ideas and perspectives begin to appear and we move into a sorting process of what works and what doesn’t.

How radical is radical? Presently, we are going through many radical changes throughout our society. Institutions are being downsized, the stock market is falling, prices are rising. Our federal government is withdrawing its support nationally, as well as internationally. People are losing their jobs and their security. When we are in the middle of radical change, life seems scary on many levels.

It is like a pendulum swinging from one side to the other. It swings between opposites. The pendulum is swinging and moving our national perspective to an opposite one, all or nothing. Unfortunately, no extreme will satisfy everyone and so there will be resistance until a middle ground is reached. There all persons must feel stable, regardless of what is happening around them.

Stability

At first, people are angry and blaming. We’re unsure how long this upheaval will last. Because people want resolution quickly, the anxiety surrounding the changes heightens. Yet, it is through slowly processing what is happening that allows for positive outcomes to occur. Sometimes, what was before needs to be be radically modified or destroyed so that new ideas and perspectives can come forth to be considered. These new ideas will begin to take hold when each ‘side’ can no longer be sustained and people are wanting stability.

True transformation comes when warring factions are no longer tolerated. It comes when the majority want a more peaceful existence, with more respect, kindness, love, and integrity. Cooperation, rather than competition is valued. Material wealth is less important than deep relationships, peace and stability. Connection with the spiritual side of existence gives life a deeper meaning.

Conclusion

The transformations we are going through are necessary. They may or may not last long, but regardless of the outcome, we as a people need a new perspective for how to live together happily and peacefully. When we figure it out, stability is ours. Adonai.
